Refurbishment of Private Residence, Hertfordshire, UK

Located in Hertfordshire, UK, the brief for this manor house was a complete refurbishment of the interiors including major spatial reorganization and complete overhaul of the services. Nature and nature inspired elements is the unifying theme for the numerous spaces in the house reflecting the countryside location. Detailing and selection of materials was key in achieving the requirement of an elegant countryside feel.

Feature elements have been created in each room like the handcrafted balustrade and laser cut metal door which are an abstraction of timber grain, specialised wall finishes where leaves and branches are used as inspiration and the grass infused resin panel in the swimming pool area. The idea is to bring the outside in. Various other bespoke elements like the I M Lab designed blownglass Venini light, sinks and baths carved out of natural stone blocks, joinery units and flexible module based shelving system in the study have been designed to give the client the desired unique spatial experience in every room.
